LAS VEGAS – Six members of the 2026 U.S. World Team are locked in after the Senior Greco-Roman Group A best-of-three championship series concluded on Friday night at The Expo at World Market Center.

Two finals went the distance, needing a full three matches to determine the victor. 2023 World Team member Xavier Johnson staved off two-time U20 World Team member Landon Drury (6-3, 5-5, 4-1) in the 63 kg finals. 2022 U17 World champion Joel Adams overtook 2009 World bronze medalist and Olympian Aliaksandr Kikiniou Sr. in the final moments of match three at 77 kg.

Two-time World Team member and 2024 Olympic Trials champion Dalton Roberts is back in the top spot at 60 kg after defeating past men’s freestyle World Team member Zane Richards in two matches, 7-1 and 4-3.

Max Nowry (55 kg) and Benji Peak (72 kg) pushed the number of champions with prior Senior World Team experience up to four. Both men won comfortably in the finals, Nowry with a tech. and four-point decision over two-time World Team member Brady Koontz, and Peak with a pair of 6-3 wins against Peyton Robb, a 2021 U23 World Team member in men’s freestyle and three-time NCAA All-American at Nebraska.

The marquee 67 kg final between age-group World medalists Otto Black and Peyton Omania was over before it began. Omania was disqualified from the tournament on Friday morning, automatically giving the World Team berth to Black.

Champions in the Greco-Roman Group B weights (82 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, 130 kg) will be decided on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. (PT) with round one in the best-of-three finals.

Winners of the Greco-Roman World Team Trials qualify to represent Team USA at the 2026 Senior World Championships in Manama, Bahrain, this October.
