11th NWCA DI Men’s Wrestling Coaches Poll
Penn State remained No. 1 in this week's NWCA Coaches Poll following a results-heavy week that included several ranked matchups, a notable upset, and one new team entering the Top 25.
The biggest upset of the week came when Wyoming defeated then-No. 10 South Dakota State 24-18. South Dakota State also recorded a 19-16 win over Utah Valley earlier in the week. Wyoming's victory moved the Cowboys into the poll at No. 23.

Oklahoma State Alumni Association Inducting John W. Smith Into OSU Hall of Fame
John W. Smith will be inducted into the Oklahoma State University Hall of Fame on February 13.
Induction into the OSU Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the university upon an individual. It recognizes alumni and former students with outstanding lifetime achievements in society and professional life.
Smith, a Distinguished Member inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1997, graduated from OSU with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education in 1988.

NWCA Initiative on Transfer Portal Approved by NCAA Division I Cabinet
The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced that a proposal developed through its membership to adjust the NCAA Division I wrestling transfer portal window has been approved by the Division I Cabinet, clearing the way for a change that will take effect following the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships.
U.S. Open Championships Return to Las Vegas April 22-26
The 2026 U.S. Open Championships, one of USA Wrestling’s top-tier annual events, will return to The Expo at World Market Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 22-26.
This year’s U.S. Open will feature tournaments across seven different age groups, including 14 distinct national tournaments: Senior Nationals in Greco-Roman and men's and women's freestyle, U20 in Greco-Roman and men's freestyle, U17 in Greco-Roman and boy's freestyle, U15 in Greco-Roman and boy's freestyle, UWW Futures in Greco-Roman and boy's freestyle, Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase in freestyle, and Masters Men in Greco-Roman and freestyle.

Top-ranked Penn State moved to 7-0 while second-ranked Ohio State remained unbeaten at 12-0 and third-ranked Iowa State went 2-0 on the week.
Fourth-ranked Iowa, fifth-ranked Oklahoma State, sixth-ranked Nebraska and seventh-ranked Virginia Tech all posted victories during the week.
