Dan Gable Museum to Host β€œA Day with Dan Gable” in Omaha, Nebraska

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum invites the wrestling community to attend β€œA Day with Dan Gable sponsored by Wrestlers In Business Network - Heartland Chapter” on Sunday, September 27, at the University of Nebraska Omaha’s Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse in Omaha, Nebraska.

The event will bring together wrestling legends, former teammates, coaches, and fans for an afternoon of celebrating the sport of wrestling while honoring the outstanding career and contributions of Mike Denney and other celebrities.  

Hall of Fame Launches "What It Means Wednesdays" Video Series

Continuing its 50th Anniversary celebration, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame is launching "What It Means Wednesdays," a new weekly video series featuring national honorees reflecting on what it means to be recognized by the Hall of Fame.

The series is made possible through a generous gift from longtime wrestling and Hall of Fame supporter Dr. Robert Garrett. 

The first video, featuring 2023 Distinguished Member Rich Bender, will premiere Wednesday, August 5, at 12 p.m. CT across the Hall of Fame's social media channels. 

A new video will be released each Wednesday, with more than 50 national honorees scheduled to be featured throughout the series.

Olympic Champion Elor, Returning Champions Welker, Lilledahl Highlight U.S. Roster for 2026 Galaxy U23 World Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The U.S. lineup in each Olympic discipline has been determined for the 2026 Galaxy U23 World Championships being held at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, this October.

Team USA rosters include National Wrestling Hall of Fame Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award winners Alexis Janiak and Everest Leydecker, and Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award winners Aden Attao, Jayden James, Aeoden Sinclair and Matthew Singleton.

Leading the charge for Team USA is 2024 Olympic champion and two-time Senior World champion Amit Elor, who holds the women’s freestyle 72 kg spot.The Galaxy U23 World Championships span seven days of competition. Greco-Roman kicks off the event and will compete October 12-14, women’s freestyle will follow October 14-16, and men’s freestyle wraps things up October 16-18. Wrestling begins at 10:30 a.m. local time each day.

All-session tickets are currently available for purchase online through the UNLV tickets website, with prices ranging from $145 to $345. Single-session tickets will go on sale after Labor Day.

Askren Concludes Hall of Fame Career; Gray, Hidlay Post Wins at RAF11

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – With no shortage of storylines on display at RAF11 on July 18, Ben Askren, a Distinguished Member inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2026, stole the show after returning to the mat at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena following a near-fatal medical battle in 2025.

After taking Belal Muhammad the distance in the co-main event, Askren left his boots on the mat, signaling his retirement and closing the door on an extraordinary competitive wrestling career.

Earlier that night, Adeline Gray made RAF history by winning the organization’s first-ever Women’s Cruiserweight match.

Oklahoma Chapter to Induct Seven in October

The Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame will honor seven outstanding individuals at its 2026 induction ceremony on October 4 in Edmond. 

Coaches Don Langham, Matt Surber, and the late Todd Glasgow, as well as officials Josh Briscoe and Mark Hudson will receive the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award. Lieutenant Colonel Tanner Garrett will be honored as an Outstanding American Award and Billy Simpson will receive the Medal of Courage. 

In addition to these traditional awards sanctioned by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma Chapter will present its Madalene and Lee Roy Smith Family Award to the James Family from Del City.
