STILLWATER, Okla. – Delbarton School (Morristown, New Jersey), Edmond North High School (Edmond, Oklahoma), Bishop McCort High School (Johnstown, Pennsylvania) and Stillwater High School (Stillwater, Oklahoma) all went undefeated during the first day of action in the Third-Annual National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dual Classic at Stillwater High School.

Featuring 10 of the top high school teams in the nation, the Dual Classic is presented by Cliff Keen Wrestling and Territory Resources in association with the U.S. Army and Visit Stillwater. 

Delbarton and Stillwater are tied for the lead in Pool A with 2-0 records while Edmond and Bishop McCort are tied for the lead in Pool B, also with 2-0 records. Sunnyside High School (Tucson, Arizona) and Massillon Perry High School (Massillon, Ohio) were both 2-1 in Pools A and B, respectively.

In the current MatScouts rankings, Bishop McCort is fifth, Delbarton is sixth, Stillwater is 12th, Edmond North is 15th, Massillon Perry is 18th, Sunnyside is 21st, Greens Farms Academy is 33rd, Joliet Catholic is 44th, and Ponaganset is 45th. 

Delbarton defeated Greens Farms Academy (Westport, Connecticut), 53-8, and Sunnyside, 51-21, while Stillwater defeated James Martin High School (Arlington, Texas), 50-19, and Greens Farms Academy, 44-26. Sunnyside defeated Arlington Martin, 51-21, and Greens Farms Academy, 34-29. Arlington Martin went 0-2 and Greens Farms Academy went 0-3.

Edmond North defeated Ponaganset High School (Glocester, Rhode Island), 31-26, and Joliet Catholic High School (Joliet, Illinois), 55-16. Bishop McCort defeated Joliet Catholic, 67-3, and Massillon Perry, 36-24. Massillon Perry defeated Joliet Catholic, 59-9, and Ponaganset, 61-3. Ponaganset went 0-2 and Joliet Catholic went 0-3.

Every team will wrestle two more matches on Saturday to determine final tournament placing. 

Kayla Batres of Green Farms made history when she became the first female to compete in the Dual Classic. In the latest National Girls High School rankings, Batres is No. 1 at 110 pounds and No. 15 in the Pound-for-Pound rankings. Competing at 106 pounds, she lost her first match, 12-4, to Malik Hoskins of Sunnyside, and won by forfeit in her second match against Nathan Phillips of Stillwater.

Top-ranked Jayden James of Delbarton went 2-0 with a technical fall and a forfeit. Bo Bassett and Jax Forrest of Bishop McCort, who are each ranked No. 1, were both 2-0. Bassett won his first match by technical fall and his second by fall while Forrest won both of his matches by fall. Top-ranked Kody Routledge of Edmond North was 2-0 with a decision and a technical fall. Stillwater's Ladarion Lockett, who is ranked No. 2 at 165 pounds and No. 4 in the overall Pound-for-Pound rankings, won his only match by fall.

Rounds 4 and 5 for Pool A will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday followed by Rounds 4 and 5 for Pool B at 12:15 p.m. 

In the first session for Pool A on Saturday, Delbarton will face Arlington Martin and Stillwater will match up with Sunnyside. In the second session, Delbarton and Stillwater will meet each other and Greens Farms Academy will battle Arlington Martin.

In the first session for Pool B on Saturday, Bishop McCort will match up with Ponaganset and Edmond North will face Massillon Perry. In the second session, Bishop McCort and Edmond North will meet each other and Joliet Catholic will face Ponaganset.

Following the completion of the round-robin competition, the teams in each pool will be seeded based upon record. The 10 teams will then wrestle a final dual to determine final placing. 

At 3:45 p.m., the No. 5 teams from each pool will wrestle for 9th and 10th places and the No. 4 teams from each pool will wrestle for 7th and 8th places. 

At 5:15 p.m., the No. 3 teams from each pool will wrestle for 5th and 6th places and the No. 2 teams from each pool will wrestle for 3rd and 4th places.

The championship match between the No. 1 teams from each pool will be held at 7 p.m.
