Mike Natvig
Mike Natvig was a two-time NCAA champion for the United States Military Academy, capturing titles at 147 pounds in 1962 and 1963.
After attending the University of Iowa for one year, Natvig journeyed east and found West Point head coach LeRoy Alitz, a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Natvig had a career record of 47-7-1 and is considered the most successful wrestler in the history of West Point.
Though never an Iowa state champion, Natvig was a star for Decorah High School and placed second at the stater tournament in 1957 and 1958.
He was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1984.
He retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel and makes his home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
