2023 Pennsylvania Chapter Ceremony Planning Underway

The Pennsylvania Chapter is planning for its 29th Honors Day Banquet to be held on April 30, 2023 in Hershey, PA. The Chapter will also be celebrating its 30th year as the first and oldest State Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. No Honors Day Banquet was held in the initial year of the Chapter, in 1994.

To that end, the PA Chapter has designed its 30 Year logo (attached), which will be used in communications for the event. The Chapter is also exploring a celebratory lapel pin featuring the 30 year logo, similar to the 25 year pins that were deigned 5 years ago.

Currently, the Chapter is finalizing the session to shoot the Banquet Videos, that will occur at the Rock Lititz campus on December 12. These videos show the Inductees answering questions about their background, and their induction into the Hall of Fame. There is also a portion of the video that provides the Inductees wrestling biographical sketch, and shows photos, trophies, and other images of the Inductees’ wrestling background – that memorabilia is brought to the video session so it can be photographed, then held by the PA Chapter until the Banquet, when it is displayed in the pre-Banquet Social.

The videos are generally 7-8 minutes in length and are used in lieu of an acceptance speech by the Inductees. Space is provided in the banquet program for the Inductees to thank people who were influential in their wrestling lives.

PA Inductees have stated that they prefer doing these videos instead of worrying about doing a live acceptance speech. This approach also allows the Inductees to relax more and just come to the Banquet to enjoy the day, and not worry about doing a speech.
