Massachusetts Chapter
Official State Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame
11th Annual Honors Banquet
The annual banquet for the MA Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame (MA-NWHOF) will be held on Saturday November 3rd at the Framingham Sheraton. Information on the banquet can be found here: http://ma-nwhof.ticketleap.com/banquet/.
There will be a pre-banquet reception for this year's honorees, friends, and family at 5 PM, followed by a cocktail hour for the general public at 6 PM and dinner/ceremonies at 7 PM. This year's event features the induction of four worthy individuals for their lifetime service to wrestling: Gary Chase (Wayland HS), Deke Conklin (Scituate HS), Tom Darrin (Reading HS), and Phil Gormley (Malden HS and wrestling official).
In addition, Warren Farrell, who is a longtime supporter of Massachusetts wrestling, will be recognized with the inaugural Mass Wrestling Roots Award. The evening will also be highlighted by keynote speaker Jay Weiss (Harvard Wrestling Coach) and master of ceremonies Jay McQuaide (former WBZ radio host). Jay is also the captain of the 1987 Lowell High School state championship team that will be honored, along with the 1987 Quabbin High School team.
There are two separate tickets available for the November 3rd event: one for the honoree's reception ($50) and the other for the cocktail hour, dinner, and ceremonies ($75). All are welcome to join the honorees for both portions of the evening, or to choose one. Tickets are available at http://ma-nwhof.ticketleap.com/banquet/.
When you're purchasing tickets online, you may also make a donation to one of three worthy causes that the MA-NWHOF is supporting this year. They are: the Peckham Scholarship Fund, the National Capital Campaign, and the Boston Youth Wrestling Program.
Although contributions to these initiatives are encouraged, the most important thing is that you come to the banquet on November 3rd. Please support the "Class of 2012" as we celebrate their contributions to Massachusetts wrestling and kick off another wrestling season !
Thanks,
Mike Stuer
MA-NWHOF Secretary
