Tim Herman, Armdrag website manager, was first recipient of Stanbro Media Award

Each year the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame recognize a member of the media who has promoted wrestling on their particular media with the Stanbro Media Award. Tim Herman, who runs the Armdrag website for western New York - Sections V and VI, was the first recipient of this award. Tim’s website is full of great historical pictures and newspaper articles covering the history of our sport. Additionally, his website presents the latest news on wrestling in Section V and Section VI. Furthermore, he has a wonderful facebook page and twitter account that is amazing in so many aspects. Tim wrestled at Byron-Bergen High School and was a two-time Section V class champion and went on to Franklin and Marshall College to wrestle for Hall of Fame coach Mark Faller. Tim started his website in 2001 and serves on the Board of the Upstate New York Chapter of the NWHOF and the Friends of Section V wrestling. Each year at the annual ceremony of the Upstate New York Chapter, he functions as the photographer for the event. He provides each of our honorees will outstanding pictures which helps to memorialize the experience. At this very difficult time in our country and the sport of wrestling few people have worked so hard to keep the wrestling community engaged with wrestling. It is suffice to say that Tim is one of the best historian and promoter of our sport and we recognize him for all that he does.

Our Mission: To honor the sport of wrestling by preserving its history, recognizing extraordinary individual achievements, and inspiring future generations
