NCAA Men’s Notebook: Final Weekend of the Regular Season

The final weekend of duals goes down this weekend. While there are some conference duals, most of the action is non-conference competition before teams gear up for a week off before their conference tournaments.
Some schools celebrate the accomplishment more than others, but let’s look at each conference and see who is in the lead for the regular-season title and whether they have already clinched the dual trophy.
ACC
With a win against Duke this weekend, Virginia Tech will claim the 2026 ACC regular season title outright. This marks the second straight year the Hokies have claimed at least a share of the title and the third time in the last four years.
The conference highlight was a convincing 21-12 win at #8 NC State. The Hokies handed the Wolfpack their first home ACC loss since 2019 and won six of the 10 bouts, with two coming by way of bonus points. Virginia Tech also picked up a pair of top-five individual wins.
Big Ten
For the sixth straight year, Penn State went undefeated in Big Ten action and claimed the 2026 regular season title once again. The Nittany Lions outscored conference foes by an incredible 328-23, as Penn State lost only six of the 80 individual matches in Big Ten duals.
Along the way, the Nittany Lions scored top-10 wins against #2 Ohio State (36-5), #4 Iowa (32-3), #6 Nebraska (26-12) and #10 Michigan (38-3). Penn State has won 50 consecutive Big Ten duals dating back to the 2019-20 campaign.
Big 12
Best of luck finding ‘official’ Big 12 standings, as the official conference website does not track them, presumably due to all the affiliate schools for wrestling.
So, hopefully these can be considered close to official. Oklahoma State went through the 2025-26 with a perfect 7-0 mark against Big 12 competition. The Cowboys outscored their conference foes 221-35, and only one school reached double digits (Arizona State - 11). Iowa State was just a loss below, falling to Oklahoma State in Stillwater 24-9 back on February 1.
EIWA
The 12 teams in the EIWA are split into two divisions of six teams each. Lehigh has wrapped up the 2026 EIWA regular season title already with a perfect 5-0 mark. They are in non-conference action this weekend at Arizona State. A very competitive conference at the top of the standings, as behind the Mountain Hawks, four squads all take just a single conference loss into the final weekend.
Ivy League
For the first time in 44 years, Columbia raised Ivy League hardware. By finishing a perfect 5-0 in conference action, Columbia won an Ivy League title for the first time since 1982 (last year was the first time the Ivy had a postseason tournament).
In back-to-back weekends in late January, Columbia took down #22 Penn (23-13) and then #22 Cornell (22-21). The win over Cornell was the first for Columbia since 1986, and the win came on criteria after the Lions won the final three bouts to come back from a 21-9 deficit.
MAC
Another 12-team league split into two divisions. Rider has wrapped up the MAC regular season trophy, completing a perfect 6-0 conference slate. They are in non-conference action at Penn this weekend. A trio of teams followed closely with just one loss before the final weekend: Lock Haven, SIU Edwardsville and Northern Illinois.
SoCon
It will be an exciting final weekend of action to determine the 2026 SoCon regular season champion, as three teams sit atop the standings at 6-1 entering this final weekend.
Chattanooga will visit Bellarmine, Appalachian State hosts Gardner-Webb, and The Citadel will host VMI. Last year, it was Appalachian State and Campbell that finished atop the standings with matching 7-1 records.
Pac-12
In the four-team Pac-12, Oregon State went through the season with a perfect conference record. It was the first time going undefeated in conference duals under sixth-year head coach Chris Pendleton.
This year, the Beavers took out CSU Bakersfield (39-6), Cal Poly (24-12) and Little Rock (29-10).
Here is a look at some of the top duals throughout the weekend.
