USA Wrestling has been notified that 2025 Senior World Team member Alexandria Glaude will not compete at 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management, due to injury.
Glaude qualified for Final X by winning the 2026 U.S. Open Championships in Las Vegas, Nev. She was scheduled to face 2024 Olympic gold medalist Amit Elor, the 2026 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament champion, in the women’s freestyle 72 kg best-of-three series on June 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
“While I’m disappointed to be missing the opportunity to compete at Final X, I know this is not the end of my journey,” Glaude said. “I’ve overcome many setbacks before, and with God’s grace, I’ll do it again. The goal hasn’t changed, I’ll continue giving my best in pursuit of LA 2028. Best of luck to Amit and the rest of Team USA!”
With Glaude unable to compete at Final X, Elor is in line to be the Senior World Team member at 72 kg in women’s freestyle. In accordance with the 2026 World Team Trials Qualifications and Procedures, Elor must complete the Final X process by making weight and receiving a forfeit on the mat in Newark before officially earning the World Team selection. Additionally, Glaude will retain the No. 2 ranking on the 2026-27 U.S. Senior National Team.
