Congratulations to Gable Steveson on reserving his space in our Gold Medalists Gallery by winning Olympic gold! 

Gable was the Minnesota winner of our Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 2018.

We are going to have to do some rearranging to accommodate Gable and fellow Tokyo winners Tamyra Mensah Stock and David Taylor. 

In case you were wondering, Kyle Snyder already has a portrait in our Gold Medalists Gallery, so if he wins on Saturday he won’t get a new portrait but rather an updated nameplate like Bruce Baumgartner (1984 and 1992), George Mehnert (1904 and 1908) and John Smith (1988 and 1992). 

Gable becomes the 48th wrestler to be honored and his portrait will be displayed alongside other U.S. Olympic gold medalists, including Hall of Fame Distinguished Members Kurt Angle, Ed Banach, Lou Banach, Bruce Baumgartner, Jeff Blatnick, Doug Blubaugh, Glen Brand, Tom Brands, Henry Cejudo, Kendall Cross, George Dole, Steve Fraser, Dan Gable, Rulon Gardner, Kevin Jackson, Frank Lewis, Randy Lewis, Terry McCann, George Mehnert, Peter Mehringer, Kenny Monday, Allie Morrison, Robert Pearce, Ben Peterson, John Peterson, Robin Reed, Cael Sanderson, Dave Schultz, Mark Schultz, Brandon Slay, John Smith, William Smith, Jack VanBebber, Russell Vis, Bobby Weaver, Wayne Wells, Shelby Wilson and Henry Wittenberg.
