2017 Legends Clinic & Dual

Salina, KS  The Third Annual Kansas Chapter NWHOF & M “Legends Wrestling Clinic”. Completed a successful day on Sunday November 5, 2017 in the Mabe Gym on the Kansas Wesleyan University campus. The event in Salina featured Kansas Wrestling Coach Association Hall of Fame member Gary Harding.

Harding who coached at Salina Central High School, Southeast of Saline HS and started the Salina Youth Wrestling Club in 1972. Provide the attendees with a speech title: “WRESTLING WITH HEART”.


 Weston Harding of Tulsa, Oklahoma was the morning session feature Clinician. Harding a former three time Kanas State High School Champion. Covered the seven basic s of wrestling in his three hours on the wrestling mat. Wes also spoke to the 30 student-athletes in attendance and numerous adults that wrestling is a demanding tough sports.


 Harding who was a three time NAIA All American wrestler at Fort Hays State University, stressed strong academic grades while in grade school, middle school and high school.

Wes Harding is now the Head Wrestling Coach at Collinsville High School in Tulsa has won six team high school State championships and starting his 29th year as a wrestling coach.


 The last session of the day was provided by Head Wrestling Coach Matt Oney of Kansas Wesleyan University. Oney review the top position for control and tilts & turns of the bottom person. Oney is in his second season as the Head wrestling coach at KWU.


 A dual was featured later in the afternoon between NAIA colleges: Bethany College vs. Kansas Wesleyan.
