Pre-seeds for the 2026 Senior Greco-Roman World Team Trials have been announced before the 2026 U.S. Open Championships this week at The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas.

Tournament seeding was based on an agreed upon set of seeding criteria that included USA Wrestling PIN ratings, head-to-head results, tournament placements, and common opponents. Pre-seeds were finalized by the U.S. Greco-Roman national team staff.

Seeding is not final until after weigh-ins conclude. Adjustments to the seeding will be made if a wrestler drops out of the field for any reason. In that case, the wrestler in question will be removed from the list and every wrestler underneath will bump up to the next seed.

Olympians Alejandro Sancho (72 kg), Aliaksandr Kikiniou, Sr. (72 kg), Kamal Bey (82 kg) and Payton Jacobson (87 kg) all earned No. 1 seeds.

Four-time World Team member Cohlton Schultz was awarded the top seed at 130 kg. Fellow 2025 World Team members Max Black and Michial Foy both collected No. 1 seeds at 60 kg and 97 kg, respectively.

Caping off the top seeds at the U.S. Open are three-time World Team member Max Nowry at 55 kg, 2023 World Team member Xavier Johnson at 63 kg and two-time age-group World medalist Otto Black at 67 kg.

The Senior Greco-Roman World Team Trials will span Thursday-Saturday. The field will be split up into two groups. Group A (55 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 67 kg, 72 kg, 77 kg) competes on Thursday and Friday. Group B (82 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, 130 kg) is in action on Friday and Saturday. A detailed schedule of events is available at usawrestlingevents.com. 

The U.S. Open Championships will be broadcast live on FloWrestling. Brackets will be available through USA Bracketing.

Pre-seeds for Senior men’s freestyle will be released later today.
