Thurman 'Pete' Wolf

Pete Wolf graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School in 1957, where he became the 1st District 6 wrestling champion in Bald Eagle Nittany history. He continued his education and wrestling career at the University of Maryland and Lock Haven University. In 1962 he accepted a position at Hughesville High School and to this day he still helps with their wrestling program. His record as head coach at Hughesville was 203-74-7. During the 20 years as head coach, Pete coached 28 District Champs and 21 Regional Champs. He also had 15 P.I.A.A. State Place Winners and 8 P.I.A.A. State Champions. In 1974 coach Wolf was named P.I.A.A. "Coach of the Year" and 25 years later in 1999 he was named "Assistant Coach of the Year." In 1969 at Camp Rocky Point, coach Wolf started one of the first elementary-junior high wrestling camps in Pennsylvania.
