Don Pittman

Lifetime Service Don began his coaching career at Champaign High School in 1951. After but one year, Don moved on to Danville High School and remained there for the next eleven years. In 1963, Don decided to returned to Champaign and spent the High School. Coaching in an era of the one class system, Don Pittman produced four individual State Champions, 5 second placers and two third placers. His teams managed to win four conference championships, along with four IHSA Regional titles and two IHSA Sectional titles. He amassed 169 wins while losing only 83 with four ties. His team finished in the Top Ten in the state four times. Don served as an IHSA District Representative for six years and in the early 1970s Don found himself serving on the IHSA Wrestling Rules Advisory Committee.
