Alan Karstetter
Alan Karstetter was a member of the 1973 BYU team that placed 4th in the NCAA under the tutelage of Fred Davis, and he competed in the 1972 Olympic trials at 114.5 lbs. He became an assistant coach to Davis in 1973-74. Upon graduation from BYU, Karstetter returned to Sand Springs to begin a 28 year coaching career. He coached 4 years at Clyde Boyd Jr. High School (1974-78) and 24 years at Charles Page High School (1978-2002). His teams dual meet record is 276-74, and they have won over 40 tournaments. They were District Champions 10 times in 13 seasons. Karstetter was named Frontier Conference Coach of the year six times. He was named the 1989 Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Coach.
