Jerry Billings
Jerry Billings started his coaching career in 1957 at Sapulpa High School where he coached until 1965, when he became the wrestling coach at Lamar Junior College in Lamar, Colorado.
While at Lamar College, Billings led his team to the National Junior College Championship title and he was named Junior College Coach of the Year.
In 1966 he returned to Tulsa and coached at Webster High School until 1971. He coached the Webster teams to 50 victories with only 2 losses. He was named coach of the 1966 Oklahoma All-Star team that wrestled in Japan.
Billings served as president of the Oklahoma Wrestling Coaches Association from 1966 to 1980. He was promoted to vice principal at Webster High School in 1970 and became the principal in 1984.
After retiring from coaching, Billings began officiating wrestling. He officiated 11 regional and 11 state wrestling tournaments from 1970-1981. He also helped start wrestling programs at Skiatook and Claremore High Schools.
Billings was an Oklahoma State high school champion in 1953, and a varsity wrestler at Oklahoma State University from 1954-57.
