Walter Shallcross
Walt Shallcross earned nine varsity letters in football, wrestling, and baseball at Roselle Park High School. He was selected all state in both football and baseball and earned a second place medal in the state wrestling tournament. At Rutgers University, he again lettered in three sports and served as captain of the football and wrestling teams. Upon graduation from Rutgers, Shallcross spent 17 years as the Union High School wrestling coach compiling a record of 155-19. During this time, he coached 20 New Jersey champions including three outstanding wrestlers. As Director of Athletics, he directed Region Tournaments and served as chief clerk of the State Tournament. His expertise in wrestling made him one of the most sought after clinicians in the sport.
