Phillip Dalke
Phil Dalke started his coaching career at Classen High School. Having wrestled his high school career at Geary, he saw a need and started the wrestling program at Classen following the opening of Northwest Classen High School. In 1958, he had a state runner-up and 1964 saw 7 wrestlers qualify to go to the State Tournament. He then took his talents to Hobart where he not only won 2 Wrestling State Championships, but 2 Football State Championships as well. Fifteen individual wrestlers for Coach Dalke have been crowned State Champions and he had 54 state placers. In 1970, he was honored with both the Oklahoma Wrestling Coach of the Year and the Oklahoma Freestyle Coach of the Year. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame in 1977. He has served 2 terms (4 years) on the Oklahoma Coaches Association Board of Controls. In 1981, he received the University of Central State Distinguished Former Student Award. For the past 3 years he has served as the Mayor of Hobart.
