Keith Lowrance
Keith Lowrance Keith Lowrance has made an indelible mark on the wrestling programs at both Granby and Kempsville High Schools. In over 30 years, teams coached by Lowrance have built a won-loss record of 238-28-2. Keith has coached teams to the Virginia State championship three times, in 1971, 1978 and 1990 and placed 15 teams in the top five in the state. He has coached 28 individual state champions, 75 place winners and seven High School All-Americans. He was named Virginia Coach of the Year in 1978 and 1990. A 1965 graduate of Granby High School, Lowrance was a two-time Virginia State Champion while completing an undefeated scholastic career. He was recognized as the Number 1 high school wrestler in the United States in 1965. He continued his wrestling career at Michigan State University where he captained the NCAA Champion Spartans while winning two Big 10 championships and twice earing All-American status. Lowrance has served as a guest clinician at numerous state coaches' associations and has run Granby system camps all across the country. His wrestling room has produced numerous coaches in Virginia high schools. He and his wife Debbie reside in Virginia Beach and are the parents of three daughters, Page, Meredith and Jordan.
