When people mention South Jersey wrestling, the name of Jack Kinner always comes up because of the strong character he demonstrated toward his athletes, his fans, and opposing coaches and officials. He has earned the respect of everyone associated with wrestling. Jack was the oldest of six brothers and two sisters that attended Haddon Township High School. The wrestling program that Jack and his brothers experienced taught him how to recruit, not just wrestlers, but families to build a successful program. Like so many high school programs, Audubon was no easy task, but Coach Kinner was driven to succeed. He always credits others for the program's success, however, he positioned himself as the driving force behind that success. During Jack's 23 years at Audubon High School (1971-1994), he also coached Football, Softball, Swimming, Track and Field and Gymnastics. In 2003, Jack was inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Officials and Coaches Hall of Fame. Jack has also been the site Director of the Region VII Tournament for the past 10 years, and has been the Assistant to Howie O'Neil, State Tournament Director, and the facilitation of the NJSIAAWrestling Tournament in Atlantic City. When asked what has been his proudest moments in his career, Jack immediately refers to his friendships and relationships he has developed through wrestling. He always mentions Kathy, his wife of 50 years, his daughters Jacklyn and Jodie, and his three grandchildren June, Jack and Katie. Congratulations to Jack Kinner for being inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Class of 2018.
