Lieutenant Colonel Michael Morris Jr.

Mike Morris, Jr., is no stranger to the wrestling mat. He was a youth wrestler in New Milford and wrestled for New Milford High. He finished second in the State Open in 1987 when he was the Western Connecticut Conference’s wrestler of the year. He wrestled for two years at Southern Connecticut State.
After college, he was a youth and middle school coach in Danbury, New Milford and Hebron. He was also a youth coach for Colchester Youth Wrestling. He was and an assistant coach at Bacon Academy from 2006-13. The Bobcats won two Class M titles (2010, 2011) and a State Open championship in 2011.
He has been an active official since 2002. Mike has helped send kids to wrestling camps, provide them with work doing odd jobs and just advice about college and the military.
He was also committed to our nation. He was a member of ROTC in college, entered active duty (1987-99) and served overseas. When his active duty commitment was over, he joined the U.S. Army Reserve. Mike has served our nation for more than 25 years and is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve where he has been assigned as a Battalion Commander. A battalion can have 300 to 1,500 soldiers depending on the assignment.
Mike is chief operating officer of Miller Companies in Illinois, a firm that employs 75 employees and generates $10 million in revenue a year in 350 locations in three states.
