Michael Schibanoff
A 1935 graduate of Freehold High School, Mick Schibanoff coached at Thomas Jefferson High School and Bound Brook High School for a total of 19 years. His major contribution to wrestling, however, is centered in the area of officiating where he made a major contribution with his knowledge, organization and leadership to the State of New Jersey and to the National level. He helped direct and organize the wrestling officials to help provide standards and procedures to the officials group. He was the first President of the New Jersey Wrestling Officials Association and served as a member of the EIWA Officials Association. Mike was an excellent official working competitive matches and all levels of the State Tournament including the finals for many years. He served as the NJ Rule Interpreter and Chief Referee at the NJSIAA tournament for years. He is responsible for writing the first wrestling rules book for interscholastic wrestling in the United States.
