Alex Tirapelle of Clovis High School will graduate with a 4.0 GPA and as Valedictorian of his class.

He is a member of the National Honor Society and was Block "C" president.

Tirapelle is a three-time California State Champion, a National High School Senior Champion and is ranked No. 1 in his weight class by the National High School Coaches Association and Wrestling USA Magazine.

He was selected for the 2001 Dapper Dan USA Team and the 2001 Wrestling USA Dream Team.

He received the Central Section Athlete of the Year 2001 and the 2001 Garrison Award for Outstanding Scholar/Wrestler in the USA. During his senior year he was named Outstanding Wrestler at four different tournaments.

Tirapelle was also 1st Team Football All-League and captain of the football team.

He received the Sassano Blanket Award for the Clovis High School Outstanding Senior Award and was named the school's Athlete of the Year.

Tirapelle has been active in his community volunteering as a counselor in the summer athletic program for youths and in the Little Cougar Youth Wrestling Camps. He also helped with the elementary and junior high school programs. He served as a Clovis High School Peer Counselor and was a Marjoree Mason Center Thrift Store Fundraiser volunteer.
