Roger Rolen
Roger Rolen, a graduate of The Dalles, Oregon earned All-American status wrestling for Oregon College of Education (WOU) placing 3rd and 5th in 1977 and 1978. He also placed 3rd, 2nd, and 1st twice in the Evergreen Conference tournament. He returned to The Dalles for one year to coach for his brother Rich Rolen, before joining the Oregon City Wrestling program as an assistant. Roger coached for over 28 years sharing his passion for the sport. Rolen was a seven-time league/district coach of the year, and in 2013 was the NWCA Oregon Coach of the Year. In his 8 year tenure as head coach developing relationships and wrestlers, his teams placed among the Top 10 at the State tournament. His 2013 team placed 2nd , the highest for any OCHS team. Rolen coached 82 state placers with 12 individual state champions. In 1998 he coached the Oregon Cultural Exchange team to Hungary and was 3 times an Oregon Junior National Team coach at Fargo.
