Greg Cossette
Greg has coached wrestling in Idaho for 36 years at Post Falls HS and Post Falls Middle School. He has coached at all levels from middle school to high school varsity. He started the wrestling program at John Sager Middle School to begin his coaching career in 1972. Greg was instrumental in starting the Post Falls recreational wrestling program which led to the development of two successful club teams in Post Falls. His efforts made wrestling "relevant" at Post Falls High School and was a precursor to dominant teams at PFHS since 2010 through 2018 (and on?). Greg's overall coaching record is 380-241, with 2 individual state champions and 16 state placers as varsity coach. As a varsity assistant he shared in the development of 11 more individual state champions and 57 other state placers in his 38-year career. "I love to reminisce looking at awards and trophies and the names on the wall of our room, but they are just reminders. My greatest joy comes from watching 'my kids' become productive parents, contributors, and community leaders. Many of my young men and women have become close personal friends, which is the frosting on the cake of life. And I owe all this to the great sport of wrestling."
