Bob Akers
Bob Akers a 1965 graduate of Oregon State University worked over 50 years developing the youth of Oregon. His involvement in wrestling began with three years supporting Dale Thomas’ kids wrestling program. He then coached wrestling for 25 years and had seven undefeated seasons. He was named Oregon High School Association middle school coach of the year in 1986. Teaming up with Vern Olsen, he founded the East County middle school wrestling league. Bob also worked the OSAA State Championships for over 50 years, including 20 years on the OSAA Tournament committee and has worked the PAC 8, PAC 10 and PAC 12 tournaments.
