Frank Wadas

Frank Wadas is a 1968 Grad of Mansfield State College with a BS in Secondary Ed. and Biology. After 4 years as Assistant Wrestling Coach at Tunkhannock High School, he became the Head Coach. He retired in 2014 with 329 victories in 32 years. His Tigers were Suburban League Champs twice, and Lackawanna League Champs in 1982. In 1985, they were Wyoming Valley West Conference Champs and District 2 AAA Team Champs. Frank began officiating in 1975, and is now in his 41st year. He refereed in Lackawanna League Championships and in many District 2 AA and AAA Individual and Dual Meet Championships. He officiated AAA Regionals and the PIAA State Team Duals in 2007 and 2008. Frank was active in the District 2 & 12 Coaches Associations for 28 years, serving as President in half of those years. He was the District 2 Treasurer for 16 years. Frank still directs a Holiday tournament and several MAWA District events, continuing since his coaching days. He was District 2 Sectional Tournament Director from 2000-2003, and has served on the District 2 Team Duals Selection Committee. Frank was an organizer of an All-Academic Team and banquet for District 2. Frank was inducted into the PA Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame 2003, and into the PA Sports Hall of Fame, Endless Mountain Chapter, in 2007. Frank is very active with the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association. He's been the Treasurer the 15 years, and a member of the PWCA Convention and Clinic Committee for 12 years. He has also been a member of the Brute Select Cup and PWCA Scholarship Selection Committees. Frank and his wife, Patricia, reside in Tunkhannock, where they raised 3 children
