Bob Georger
Bob Georger started the wrestling program at De Soto High School in De Soto, Missouri.
He also began and remains involved with the Bob Georger Wrestling Classic, which celebrated 47 years in 2024.
Georger began his teaching career in 1977 at De Soto as a social studies teacher. Over the next 32 years, he coached wrestling, football, track and golf.
Twenty four of his wrestlers earned all-state honors and Georger expected his athletes to be leaders and good examples to other students, both on and off the mat.
After graduating Cleveland High School in 1971, Georger wrestled at St. Louis Community College and earned All-America honors, finishing fifth and sixth in the nation. He also wrestled at Florida International University.
He is a member of the St. Louis Community College at Meramec Sports Hall of Fame.
Georger is retired, but continues to mentor coaches and athletes.
