Ron Fox
A sports writer who works primarily within the wrestling community and who has even published noted books on the subject, Rob Fox is an individual in whom the wrestling community is forever indebted due to his reporting and his writings, in addition to his continued participation in the administration. Fox has written for the Ridgewood News for nine years as well as the Bergen Record in Hackensack for 26 years within which he has covered football, wrestling, and baseball. He has served on the NJSIAA Executive Committee for Wrestling for fifteen years; he created the Format and Reported the All Suburban, and created the Wrestling Team in order to honor area wrestlers. Fox also served on the Nominating Committee for the New Jersey Sports Hall of Fame for ten years. His book Wrestling Basics (1986, Prentice Hall) gives spectators the needed foundations for understanding the initial basics of the mat. Fox was inducted onto the Region 2 and Region 4 Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1991 as the first writer to ever have been inducted, and was named New Jersey Sports Writer of the Year in 1997. Fox also received the William Powley Service Award from the Bergen County Coaches Association. A paragon of the wrestling world, Ron Fox is an active participant within the community and remains to be an integral member, educating and writing for the participants and spectators alike.
