Pat Lovell
He began officiating high school wrestling matches in 1957.
Since then he has officiated 16 National Open freestyle and Greco-Roman Championships and many other high school, collegiate and international events. Lovell is past president of the U.S. Wrestling Officials Association and was named USA Wrestling’s Official of the Year in 1974 and 1975.
After a successful wrestling career at Cal Poly, Lovell places several times in both freestyle and Greco-Roman at the National AAU Championships, and won the Greco-Roman title in 1961. He wrestled Greco-Roman in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
