Frank Edwards

Edwards began his wrestling career in Olney, Maryland with Coach Larry Rose. He wrestled at Sherwood High School and was coached by Scott Beattie and Peter Siarkas. Frank was a 3-time West Region State Champion and NHSCA High School All American. He was accepted to the U. S. Naval Academy and began his military career as a member of the Class of 2004. At the Naval Academy, he achieved NCAA All-American status under the guidance of Coach Joel Sharratt and Bruce Burnett. After graduation, Frank accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a Ground Intelligence Officer. He was then assigned as a Scout Sniper Platoon Commander where he directed Reconnaissance and Surveillance missions in support of infantry operations. Shortly after assuming command, Frank rapidly deployed as a combat replacement in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also a combat advisor to the Iraqi Army and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with "V" Device for valor under fire. Frank was then deployed aboard the Navy ship USS Tarawa, supporting maritime contingency operations. He commanded the Scout Sniper Platoon and acted as officer in charge of the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Detachment. His team conducted counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden and he was awarded a second Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. After sea duty, Frank completed the first-ever Marine Corps Special Operations training course, graduated first in his class at Marine Combatant Diver School, and completed parachutist training. He then commanded Marine Special Operations Team 8211. His team deployed to Afghanistan multiple times to conduct irregular warfare mission profiles. During his 2010-2011 deployment, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with combat distinguishing "V" Device for heroic actions while leading an assault. Now, Frank is a Vice President at Citigroup, managing a Global Security Command Center responsible for crisis response.
