Buck Davis
Buck Davis is recognized for his years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of Wrestling.
Coach Davis coached for 32 years. His 1st year of coaching was as assistant coach at North Eugene HS, then 1 as assistant at Central Oregon Community College and 30 years at Bend High School in Bend, OR as head coach.
While a student at Bend high school, Buck was a member of the 1973 cultural exchange team to Japan, where he was undefeated in his matches with Japanese opponents. He went on to be a four-year letterman at the University of Oregon, where he was a 1976 PAC-8 champion at 177 pounds and a four time NCAA qualifier.
His wrestlers won 20 individual conference titles, six individual state titles and earned 51 additional state tournaments medals. Buck coached the 1988 Oregon culture exchange team to Cuba and Puerto Rico.
