Attended Oklahoma State University (1966-69), wrestling for legendary coach and NWHOF founder Myron Roderick
Valuable member Oklahoma State's 1968 NCAA and Big 8 tournament championship team
Transfer/graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) where he was a mainstay for the Mocs under hall of famer Jim Morgan (1969-71) compiling a 44-1 record; his .978 career winning percentage tops the program's all-time record list
3X Southeast Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (SEIWA) in 1969 (123 lbs.) and 1970 and 1971 (134 lbs.)
Had a winning streak of 100 matches between high school and collegiate careers
Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Wrestler (1971)
Inducted into the UTC Sports Hall of Fame (1993)
Inducted into the Greater Chattanooga Area Sports Hall of Fame (2002)
1971-72 - founded wrestling program at Pebblebrook HS (Mableton, GA)
1972-73 - graduate assistant coach - University of Georgia (Athens, GA)
1973-78 - founded Georgia's freestyle wrestling program, training officials and coaches; led teams to regional and national AAU and National Federation tournaments in Nebraska, Iowa and New York
Coached numerous AAU/National Federation All-Americans including future NWHOF coach Dennis Stromie, national champion Brian Flint, Benny Fitzgerald, Aaron Franks, Reed Draper, Tom Flanagan and Nolan Eastham
1978-2022 - volunteer coach for programs across the north metro Atlanta area including Riverwood HS, East Cobb (Wheeler) Middle School, Milton and head coach at Roswell's middle school (17 years) mentoring countless wrestlers to Georgia High School Association state championships and state places
Active member of USA Wrestling and Georgia Wrestling Coaches Association
Currently serving as Vice-President/Investments, Financial Advisor with Janney Montgomery Scott
Resides in Milton, GA with wife, Sandy; adult children: Wes, Nicci
