Chuck Holliday is recognized for his years of dedication to the development of leadership and citizenship in young people through the sport of wrestling

Coach Holliday's Career began in 1970 at Eastern Oregon State College (now Eastern Oregon University) following a tour of duty in Vietnam with the US Army. As the assistant coach, he helped develop three NAIA All-Americans.
After earning his degree in education, Chuck went on to coach for 35 years at Myrtle Point, Burns, Baker, Redmond, Crook County and Bend High Schools. He started the wrestling programs at Baker High School, Burns Junior High, Myrtle Point grade school, Baker grade school and Baker YMCA. In 1980 Chuck had his first state champion, 178-pounder Kyle Diggers, just five years after creating the program at Baker. Kyle was the school's first state champion in any sport. In each of his last four years at Baker, Chuck had wrestlers in the state finals of all three wrestling styles. He was assistant coach on the 1980 Cultural Exchange trip to Italy and in 2005 was inducted into the EOU Athletic Hall of Fame.
In recent years Chuck has been involved in fundraising for athletic departments and youth programs, in 2009 alone raising over $7,000 by building and donating rustic juniper furniture. Over the past few years, the total amount donated is approaching $20,000.
