Roger Hodapp

During Roger's tenure as Head Coach for Francis Howell "The Tradition" was born and nurtured into the most successful 4A Wrestling program in the state of Missouri. The seven seasons under Roger's direction have resulted in a series of firsts for the Howell program.

... 1982 State Champion Team - first wrestling state championship as well as the first state championship of any type for Francis Howell High School (Est. 1881)

... First repeating state championship 1982 & 1983, matched by the teams of 1986 & 1987

... First individual state champion - 1981, Mark Roden

... First repeating individual state champion - 1982 & 1983, Dwight Downs

... 51 consecutive dual meet wins, 1980-1985

A seven season dual meet record of 61-6-1 gives Coach Hodapp a winning percentage of .898. 41 out of 49 Howell State Medalists have been coached by Roger resulting in 11 State Champions, 5 - 2nds, 3 - 3rds, 6 - 4ths, 7 - 5ths, and 9 - 6ths, which have given the Howell program 4 State Titles (1982, 83, 86 & 87), 2nd 1981, 3rd 1984, and 5th 1985.

Coach Hodapp's desire, intensity and love the sport have been passed to Howell's teams.

Born and raised in the strong Iowa tradition of wrestling, Roger was co-captain of the 1967 Iowa State Championship Team representing Harlan, Iowa. Roger was also successful in creating a strong supporting wrestling family and community with his wife Joni, son Cory, and daughter Katy.
