Dr. Robert Hines

An orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Robert Hines has served as a team physician for high school and Olympic-level athletes.

A 1977 graduate of Texas A&M, Dr. Hines has been the team physician for Midwest City High School since 1989; the University of Oklahoma since 1993; the Sunkist Kids wrestling club since 1997; and the University of Central Oklahoma since 2003. He has also worked with El Reno High School for a number of years.

No stranger to travel, Dr. Hines has also served as the team physician for USA Wrestling on trips to Ukraine, Turkey and Slovakia. He worked at the 2005 World Championships in Hungary, the 2007 World Championships in Azerbaijan and the 2007 Pan American Championships in Brazil.

Dr. Hines was the team physician for both wrestling and judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.

The Edmond native has also organized medical coverage for the state of Oklahoma's dual state championships, regional and state tournaments since 1996, and coverage for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

For his longtime support of wrestling, Dr. Robert Hines is honored with the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award by the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
