Mike Peck
Although he coaches a small school, Michael Peck has reached great heights as a high school coach. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma and began his coaching career, with short stays at Crescent High School and Calumet High School before moving to Marlow in 1986. In 20 years at Marlow, he has won six state team titles, finished second three times and compiled an overall record of 276-75-3. His teams have won two dual state championships and finished as runners-up five times. Peck has coached 34 individual state champions, including one four-time champ, three three-time champs and six two-time state champions. Two of his former wrestlers, Ray Miller and Michael Lightner, were four-time NCAA Division I All-Americans, each capping their collegiate careers with national championships. Three times Peck has been honored as USA Oklahoma Wrestling Coaches Association Outstanding 3A Head coach of the Year. In 1996, he was honored with the Ed Jacobsen Memorial Award as Oklahoma Coach of the Year and in 2004, he earned the Central Oklahoma Wrestling Officials Association Small Class Wrestling Coach of the Year. Peck has received a Citation of Achievement from both houses of the state legislature in 1988, 1997 and 2006. For his lifetime of service to the sport, Michael Peck is honored by the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
