Vic Stanley was on the very first wrestling team at Moshannon Valley, when Jerry Hughes started the program. He then went to Lock Haven State College and wrestled on teams that featured Gray Simons, Jack Day, Biff Walizer, and many other individuals. In 1967, Vic became coach at Council Rock High School, a position he would hold until 1992. He did not stay out of coaching long, as in 1994 he became coach of Arch Bishop Wood until 1997, when he moved to Neshaminy High School. Following Neshaminy, Vic coached at Germantown, Pen Argyl and in 2003 became head coach at LaSalle High School, a position he still holds. Vic has established himself as one of the most successful coaches in Pennsylvania. He has built successful programs at every school he has coached and some of his wrestlers are household names like, Kurt Mock, C.D. Mock, Mike Sipler, and Mike Pirozola, who all were P.l.A.A. State Champions. More than a dozen of his former wrestlers have gone on to become wrestling coaches. He has been named District One Coach of the Year nine times and was named P.l.A.A. Coach of the Year. His career coaching record is an outstanding 412-153-5 and he is looking to improve that record. Coach Stanley has been inducted into the Pennsylvania Coaches Wrestling Association Hall of Fame, Lock Haven University Hall of Fame, Council Rock Hall of Fame and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, and tonight he is honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for his "Lifetime Service" to our great sport of wrestling.
