Kirk Taylor
A member of the University of Central Oklahoma's first-ever national championship team, Kirk Taylor was a four-year letterman for the Bronchos. Immediately after graduation he tried his hand at coaching. He began as a graduate assistant at his alma mater and as an assistant coach at Edmond Memorial High School. However, it was in the center of the mat, wearing the whistle and the stripes, that he found his calling. The 2007-2008 season will be his 29th as an official. In 29 years, he has been selected to officiate the state tournament 18 times. He has refereed at 22 regional tournaments and at 18 dual state tournaments. He has twice been honored as the referee for the All-State match. For his lifetime of service to the sport of wrestling in the state, Kirk Taylor is honored by the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
