Ronald W. Shivers wrestled at Bondurant Farrar High School. He qualified for the State Wrestling Tournament at 165 lbs in 1970. Ronald obtained a wrestling scholarship at Drake University and wrestled at Drake from 1971-1973. Ronald grew up on a farm around Bondurant and that is where he gained his work ethic, caring for animals, bailing hay, and doing field work. Ronald credits wrestling for his abilities to form a team and obtain results. He has had a profound impact on many athletes, colleagues, and his community.

Ronald started work at Conrad & associates auditing grain elevators after graduating from Drake University obtaining his CPA designation. In 1978, Ronald took a position as Controller at Dee Zee Manufacturing. Ron was a member of the AICPA for over 45 years. IN 1986, Ronald was promoted to the role of President of Dee Zee and led the growth and success of the company. Ronald guided Dee Zee through many ups and downs including strengthening it after market presence and guiding it in the midst of one of the worst automotive industry crisis, then he acquired full ownership of the company.

Throughout his career, Ronald exemplified the highest standard of excellence and dedication to his community. Dee Zee has sponsored countless school events, athletic fundraisers, proms, parent teacher organizations, he advertised for many years on scoreboards at Iowa State, Drake, and Bondurant, wrestling, football, and basketball boards. He is also very proud that he supported 4-H, FFA, Polk and Warren County Fairs, the Iowa State Fair and various Agriculture programs. Ronald also likes to tell when he wrestled Olympian Ben Peterson in 1971, he lasted into the second period before the match was over.
