Jay McHugh

·         Native of Colorado Springs, CO; 1983 graduate of Wasson High School

·         1988 graduate of Colorado State University (Fort Collins, CO) - B.S. Exercise Physiology

·         37 years of service - 37 years as a wrestling official, including one year as a high school coach

·         Officiated two years in Florida and 34 years in Georgia as a past member of GWOA and currently (20 plus years) Metro Atlanta Wrestling Association

·         Has officiated 25 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) traditional state tournaments and 4 GHSA dual meet state tournaments

·         Served as head official at multiple GHSA Sectional wrestling tournaments

·         Serves as an evaluator of officials for GHSA for the past four years (2020-2024)

·         Past Georgia Wrestling Officials Association (GWOA) board member who assisted in the training of new officials

·         Awarded Gwinnett County “Randy Bortles Award” as top official

·         Also one of the GHSA’s most highly regarded softball officials for the past 27 seasons, calling balls and strikes at four GHSA state tournaments

·         Employed as Database Coordinator for Manpower Group, a worldwide staffing organization

·         Resides in Cumming with wife, Michelle; adult sons: Mike, Matt; grandchildren Addia, Landon
