Dan Fire
The Chapter wants to recognize Dan Fire who coached at North Tonawanda High School in Section VI. Coach Fire coached North Tonawanda High School to a Section VI Class A team championship and coached Dan Poulsen to the NYSPHSAA heavyweight championships in 1995.
In addition, Dan was inducted into the Western New York Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 2022. Dr. Dan Poulson, a former wrestler stated this about Coach Fire, "through his unwavering support, discipline and genuine care, Coach Fire molded young men into individuals who made an impact on their society." Coach Fire is a Vietnam veteran and served in the 366th Tactical Fighting Wing, whose heroic acts earned him the Purple Heart attempting to save members of his squadron in an enemy attack.
The Chapter is proud to award Coach and Sergeant Fire the Medal of Courage. He is truly an amazing Coach and Hero to many.
