Ken Nixon
Ken has been involved with wrestling since junior high school as a wrestler, volunteer coach, and official covering more than 50 years. He has been an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) official for 36 years during which time he was selected for numerous state individual tournaments, sectional tournaments, state dual tournaments, and recognized as AHSAA Official of the Year. He wrestled at Robert E. Lee High School (Montgomery) for HOF Coach Jim Arrington and was part of the 1984 State Championship.
He has served in various leadership roles with the Southern Wrestling Officials Association (SWOA), AHSAA State Camp Instructor, AHSAA District Director for Wrestling, and currently AHSAA Coordinator of Officials.
Ken served in the U.S. Army and is a licensed attorney in Alabama currently working for the Alabama Department of Public Health as Assistant General Counsel. He was born in 1968 to Harold (d.2024) and Lucille Nixon. He has been married to Tina for 29 years and they reside in Montgomery, Alabama. They have three children – Alyssa Styba (Anthony), who is a mental health therapist living in Pelham, Alabama; Kory Nixon, who is an IT/Biomedical Trainer living in Mobile, Alabama; and Kenny Nixon (d.2021).
