Janie Tuma
November 15, 1967 - Present
Janie Tuma has demonstrated passion and leadership in the service of Idaho wrestling and literally across the nation. She began her involvement like most wrestling parents by helping organize and lead in the club programs and tournaments where her children were learning and competing. As Janie’s love for the sport of wrestling grew, so did her involvement which quickly developed into a decades long career as a paring official and tournament director throughout Idaho, the western United States, and across the country at every level of the sport. Janie began pairing at local tournaments in 2004, and by 2011 was recognized for her advancement in the discipline and began assignments at the regional and national level. To date, Janie has worked and led over 45 regional and national tournaments. Now a P1E Certified Official (USWOA’s highest rank), she serves on the USWOA Clinics Committee, to collaborate on development and update of Pairing Official certification training materials and clinics. Janie has been distinguished as among the best officials in the country by the USWOA, and has been awarded the Ivan Olson award as Volunteer Pairer of the Year, and the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence” for “lifelong dedication to the sport of wrestling in recognition of outstanding service to USA Wrestling as a pairing official of the highest order for National & World Class Competition”. She is also certified by USA Wrestling to run both Trackwrestling and Flowrestling tournaments.
