Todd Beckerman is one of the most accomplished wrestlers in Maryland history. 

Beckerman posted an amazing 208-1 record during his prep career, including 187 consecutive wins and a national-record 43 straight tournament wins for Coach Dick Messier at DeMatha Catholic High School. 

He was a four-time National Prep champion; a Cadet National champion; and a member of the USA Dream Team. He was also a first-team ASICS High School All-American. Along with four wrestling letters, Beckerman also earned two letters in soccer in high school.

His success did not slow down in college. At the University of Nebraska, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Beckerman became a two-time All-American, placing fifth and fourth at the NCAA Division-1 tournament.

 As a senior, Beckerman was named team captain, Nebraska Male Athlete of the Year and Husker Powerlifter of the Year.  He also won the Espoir National Championship. 

Upon graduation, Beckerman launched a successful coaching career that included stints at Penn State, Nebraska and Navy. 

He coached for eight years at the University of Maryland, where he served as head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator while helping lead the Terps to four ACC championships and coaching seven individual All-Americans. 

From 2013 to 2022, Beckerman was head coach at Brown University where he coached 12 NCAA qualifiers, including Ophir Bernstein, the program's first All-American in 16 years and fourth ever. Beckerman and his wife, Christina, have two daughters, Grace and Charlotte.
