Ralph Cindrich
A multi-sport superstar, Ralph Cindrich was an All-State football player and wrestler in high school before playing both sports in college at the University of Pittsburgh, where he achieved All-American honors in both football and wrestling.
Posting back-to-back undefeated dual meet seasons for Avella High School in 1966 and 1967, Cindrich was a two-time Western PA Regional champion and a two-time PIAA state runner-up in the unlimited weight category.
Collegiately, Cindrich was Pitt’s Wrestling MVP in 1969 and claimed All-American honors that same season in the unlimited weight division.
Drafted to play football professionally, his post collegiate football career was cut short by an injury, Cindrich gave back to the sports world by becoming a legal representative of other athletes.
A retired attorney and Certified NFLPA Contract Advisor, Cindrich was twice recognized by Sporting News as one of the ‘100 Most Powerful People in Sports.’ He also received the Legal Intelligence Lifetime Achievement Award.
A 2013 inductee into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, a 2014 inductee into the WPIAL Sports Hall of Fame and a member of the Avella High School Hall of Fame, Cindrich also received the University of Pittsburgh Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997.
Cindrich and his wife, Mary, reside in Pittsburgh and are the proud parents of Michael and Christina Cindrich.
