Jack Nutter
Jack Nutter retired from coaching wrestling in 2006, after many successful years as a coach at both Medina Buckeye High School and New Philadelphia High School.
Former wrestlers describe his coaching style as one that developed patience, hard work, and dedication. His ability to connect with the athletes he coached ensured the relationships made lasted after the athletes graduated and moved forward in life.
His mentorship of his athletes is continuously praised, as he prepared them not only for success within wrestling, but also provided sage life advice as they moved forward in life. Many former wrestlers attribute their success in life off the mat to Coach Nutter.
During his time as coach at Medina Buckeye, Nutter had many state qualifiers, state place-winners, and champions. At one point his team had a 62-dual win streak, which is still the record in Media County and near the top of the record books in the state of Ohio.
