Travis Groepel

Travis‘s wrestling career started at his young age. His dad was a state champion from California, so naturally, he fell in love. But, like many of us wrestling was a love-hate relationship. Love to win, hated to lose, loved to compete, hated to practice, loved to eat, hated to cut weight! Travis Was a three-year letter winner at Raymore Peculiar high school. An injury his senior year forced him out of the competition side of wrestling. A few years after graduation, legendary coach, Paul Barbrick, and Bobby Herrick invited Travis back to help with the youth and high school programs at Raymore Peculiar. Travis really began to grow his coaching knowledge when he joined MOWest. Matt Infranca, Coach Hag, Matt Cox, and Jason Heslop took him in and added them to their staff, Travis truly has become high-level coach. He has coached numerous AA and State champions. He has more than half his life giving back to this great sport, never asking for anything in return. He has impacted more young men and women’s life’s than one could image. He continues to coach even now a SMA and AngryFish. This sport has shaped him thru many challenges to be the man he is today.
