Mike Wood

After a standout wrestling career at Kickapoo High School, where he captured an undefeated state championship during his senior campaign, Mike Wood would go on to proudly serve his county as a member of the US Army Airborne Rangers.  Mike served as a ranger during the height of conflict for the United States in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  He proudly served with distinction for a period of six years, seeing combat in both Iraq (3 tours) and Afghanistan.  After tragically losing a friend in battle, Mike made the decision to leave the military.  Using the skills, he obtained while in the military, where he was considered an expert dog handler, and combining those skills with the time he had spent as a youth training champion dogs at the Mango Kennels, Mike successfully built his own business, The Ozark Canine Academy.  Today the Ozark Canine Academy, which sits on 45 acers in Benton County, Arkansas, is one of the most successful dog training facilities in the country.  More importantly than his success in business, Mike is a loyal and dedicated father and husband.  Mike and his wife Tracy, have two children, who both participate in the sport of wrestling. Despite a busy work schedule, Mike finds time to give back to the sport as a youth wrestling coach in the state of Arkansas.  Mike credits the sport as something that has served as a foundation for him in his military and business endeavors.
