Robert Callison
Robert Callison began his teaching and coaching career at Cholla Jr. High School in 1992. He helped start the Bradshaw Mountain High School Program in 1995. Moving back to the metropolitan area, Robert accepted his first Head Coaching job at Tempe McClintock High School in 1997. In 2000, he took over the 2nd year Program Gilbert Mesquite High School. In 2005, he moved to Mountain View Mesa, where the Toro’s would eventually win State Titles in 2014 and 2015. The 2015 team finished ranked #24 in the Nation by both WIN Magazine and Intermat wrestling. He moved to Casteel High School in 2016 and guided the Colts to State Titles in 2021 and 2022. Callison finished as just the 2nd wrestling coach in Arizona history to win State Championships with two different high schools. He served on the AIA Wrestling executive committee from 2000-2013. He was President for the Arizona Wrestling Coaches Association from 2000-2008. He Co-Directed the Arizona Wrestling Coaches Association Clinic from 2008-2017. Callison served on the Arizona USA Wrestling Coaching staff from 1996-2023 and was the National Junior Director from 2008-2023. Coach Callison was a club sponsor for the Arizona Fellowship of Christian Athletes from 1997-2023, and became the Head Clinician for FCA Summer Wrestling Camp from 2014-2022. He finished his coaching career with 479 wins, 124 losses and 2 ties.
